As the national point of contact for the Artificial Intelligence Act, the Agency has, in response to the needs of the wider public, prepared a set of Slovenian ‘AI’ icons, ‘AI CREATED’ and ‘AI MODIFIED’, which data controllers may use to label content in the Slovenian language more easily and consistently.
On 2 August 2026, the provisions of Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, the so-called Artificial Intelligence Act, which set out transparency obligations for certain artificial intelligence (AI) systems. The fourth paragraph of Article 50 sets out, amongst other things, obligations for operators who use AI in their activities to create or modify content, in particular regarding the disclosure of deepfakes and certain texts on matters of public interest.
To facilitate easier and more standardised compliance with content labelling obligations, the European Commission has developed a set of icons (where you can also find basic information on the placement of EU icons), which form an integral part of the Code of Practice on the transparency of AI-generated content. The labelling obligations are binding, whilst the use of the specific European Commission icons is voluntary. Those subject to the obligations may also use other clear and recognisable labelling methods, which must be applied no later than the first interaction or exposure of a natural person to the content. Labels must comply with the requirements of the Code of Conduct regarding design and layout (Section II, measures 1.1 and 1.2). Furthermore, the information must comply with applicable accessibility requirements.
