The Communications Networks and Services Agency of the Republic of Slovenia publishes a report on the rail services market and the Agency's activities for 2025.
In the report, the Agency notes that:
- the volume of rail freight transport on the network of the Republic of Slovenia in 2025 is expected to decrease by around 4% compared to 2024, and the volume of goods transported is expected to decrease by around the same amount;
- SŽ - Tovorni promet continues to have the largest market share of 73 % on the freight transport market in 2025. This market share is, however, decreasing year on year compared to competing carriers. Compared to 2024, it is down by ca. 1%;
- Similarly to 2024, the situation in terms of the number of passengers carried has improved again in 2025;
- in the IRG-Rail Member States, in 2025, compared to the previous year, there were 3% fewer freight train kilometres and 6% more passenger kilometres.
