The Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia publishes the Analysis of postal parcel delivery, which examines current trends, challenges and development directions in the area of parcel delivery in the Republic of Slovenia, the European Union and selected technologically advanced countries.
The analysis is thus a thorough overview of the changes in the postal and logistics sector at international and national level, which are driven by the growth of e-commerce, digital transformation and changing customer expectations. Particular emphasis is placed on last mile delivery, the development of alternative delivery methods (parcel machines, PUDO points, out-of-home delivery), the use of new technologies and the sustainability aspects of delivery.
The analysis looks at different delivery models according to the type of sender and recipient, the characteristics of urban and rural areas, and the differences between universal postal services and commercial or express services. The document also includes an overview of modern technological solutions such as automation, artificial intelligence, delivery robots, drones and autonomous vehicles and their role in improving efficiency and customer experience.
One of the findings of the market analysis shows that home delivery remains the dominant form of delivery, but that the share of alternative pickup methods is gradually increasing, especially in urban environments. Users increasingly expect flexibility, real-time tracking and faster and more reliable delivery times, and the importance of sustainable solutions and optimisation of delivery networks is increasing.
The analysis of mail delivery is published in full in the attachment. The Agency adds that it will also publish the document as soon as possible in a format that complies with the provisions of the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications Act.
