Who will monitor compliance with the AI Act in the Republic of Slovenia?
In the Republic of Slovenia, the legislator has assigned the supervision of the provisions of the AI Act to five market surveillance authorities, namely:
- The Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia
- the Information Commissioner,
- the Bank of Slovenia;
- Insurance Supervision Agency;
- The Market Inspectorate of the Republic of Slovenia.

How are the other competences for the implementation of the Artificial Intelligence Act in the Republic of Slovenia divided?
In the RS, according to the Law on the implementation of the Regulation (EU) laying down harmonised rules on artificial intelligence (ZIUDHPUI), the competences for the implementation of the AI Act, excluding market surveillance authorities, are dispersed among several public sector bodies.
Notifying authorities for Section A, Annex I of the AI Act:
- Ministry responsible for the market,
- Ministry responsible for infrastructure,
- Ministry responsible for Health.
Notifying authority for Annex III of the AI Act, point 1:
- Ministry for Digital Transformation.
Assessment and monitoring of conformity assessment bodies:
- National Accreditation Service.

Which areas of the Act is the Agency responsible for monitoring?
The Agency is responsible for supervision:
- High-risk AI systems as listed in Annex I, Section A,
- High-risk AI systems listed in Annex III:
- point 2 (critical infrastructure),
- point 4 (recruitment, management of workers and access to self-employment),
- point 5a (AI systems for assessing the eligibility of natural persons to essential benefits and public assistance services) and point 5d (assessment and classification of emergency calls from natural persons or for the deployment of emergency services),
- above Article 50 (transparency obligations for providers and implementers of certain IM systems)
