From 2 August 2026, the provisions of Article 50 of the Artificial Intelligence Act, which govern transparency obligations for certain artificial intelligence systems, will apply. We at the Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia have therefore prepared and published answers to frequently asked questions on the transparency of artificial intelligence systems and the obligations under Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, i.e. the Artificial Intelligence Act.
The purpose of the provisions of Article 50 of the Artificial Intelligence Act is to ensure greater transparency in the use of certain artificial intelligence systems and to enable users to be adequately informed when they come into contact with systems or content created or modified by artificial intelligence.
Prior to the entry into force of these provisions, the European Commission published Guidelines on the implementation of transparency obligations for certain artificial intelligence systems under Article 50 of the Artificial Intelligence Act. The Guidelines complement the Code of Practice on the transparency of content generated by artificial intelligence.
To help you understand the new requirements, we have prepared answers to frequently asked questions. These provide further clarification on the content of the Code of Conduct and the Guidelines, as well as the transparency obligations for artificial intelligence systems. The answers are intended for anyone affected by the transparency requirements, as well as the wider public wishing to familiarise themselves with the new rules.
