The Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia publishes a report on the rail services market and the Agency's activities for 2024.
In the report, the Agency notes, inter alia, that:
- in 2024, the volume of goods transported by freight on the network of the Republic of Slovenia increased by 1% compared to 2023,
- the carrier SŽ - Tovorni promet had the largest market share of 74 % on the freight transport market. This market share is slightly decreasing year by year with the development of competition and the entry of new carriers on the market;
- the trend in passenger transport by rail has been increasing in recent years. Compared to 2023, the number of passengers carried is up by 19%.
