AKOS presented Slovenia’s approach to implementing the Artificial Intelligence Act to representatives of HAKOM
Visit by representatives of the Croatian regulator HAKOM

AKOS hosted representatives of the Croatian regulator HAKOM today. The meeting was aimed at presenting Slovenia’s approach to implementing the European Act on Artificial Intelligence and exchanging experiences on establishing new tasks in this field.

AKOS representatives outlined the agency’s role as a single point of contact, entry point and market surveillance authority in the field of artificial intelligence, the manner of cooperation with other competent authorities, and activities to date in preparation for the implementation of the new European legislation. The discussion covered, amongst other things, the organisation of work, staffing and technical challenges, and the establishment of regulatory sandboxes in the field of artificial intelligence.

As the field of artificial intelligence is new to Member States and approaches are still being developed, the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the practical issues that the competent authorities will face when implementing the Artificial Intelligence Act.

The regulatory authorities of Slovenia and Croatia, AKOS and HAKOM, are already cooperating in several areas of regulation. This meeting further contributed to strengthening mutual cooperation.
