The Agency at a meeting of the ITRE Committee of the European Parliament

The Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia hereby informs the public that the Director of the Agency, Mr. Marko Mišmaš attended the meeting of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) of the European Parliament in Brussels. At the meeting, representatives of the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) presented to MEPs BEREC's role, the implementation of BEREC's work programme for 2025, and their views on the forthcoming Digital Networks Act (DNA) proposal being prepared by the European Commission.

The Director, Mr. Marko Mišmaš, as the incoming BEREC Chair, also presented the BEREC Work Programme for 2026 and the activities foreseen in the planned projects. He underlined the commitment to focus on the changes to the regulatory framework foreseen for the market in the coming year. The representatives of the Body of European Regulators also highlighted the tasks related to addressing the security challenges faced by BEREC in Riga and the importance of strengthening the resilience of European communication networks.

The ITRE Committee is one of the European Parliament's key committees dealing with energy, industry, research and development and digital policy issues. It plays an important role in shaping the legislation that will determine the future development of Europe's digital networks and the electronic communications market, so presenting BEREC's work and views to these committees is of paramount importance.
