The Agency for Communications Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia hereby informs the interested public that it is preparing a public call for tenders for the award of rights for the broadcasting of radio programmes in the digital broadcasting technique throughout the territory of the Republic of Slovenia and for the award of rights for the broadcasting of radio programmes in the digital broadcasting technique in the Ljubljana area. The acquisition of the rights will enable the successful bidders to broadcast their radio programmes and thus to be heard in DAB+ technology over the digital radio networks R3, i.e. in the Ljubljana area, and R4 and R5, i.e. in the whole of the country.
The Agency urges all those who intend to apply for the call for proposals but do not yet hold radio broadcasting licences for their programmes to obtain the licences as soon as possible or to submit an application for the licences to the Agency. Obtaining a radio broadcasting licence is a prerequisite for obtaining the right to broadcast a programme in digital broadcasting technology, in accordance with the Media Act (ZMed-1).
The Agency also explicitly draws attention to the provision of Article 79(3) of ZMed-1, according to which a registered radio activity is a condition for obtaining a licence.
All interested providers may obtain further information on the licence at anze.kolsek@akos-rs.si, or by telephone on (01) 5836393.
