Television broadcasting licence

Every publisher of television programming must obtain a television broadcasting license before they begin to broadcast their television programme, regardless of the platform of dissemination. The procedure for obtaining a licence is governed by Articles 79 and 80 of the Media Act and the General Act on the Licence for the Exercise of Radio or Television Activities.

Procedure for obtaining a broadcasting licence

The Agency shall issue a license upon application by the broadcaster. The condition for obtaining a license is registered television activity. The application for a license must contain:

  • information on the broadcaster (personal name, address and tax number for natural persons, or company name, registered office, tax number, registration number and legal representative for legal persons),
  • information on the type of activity (i.e. television activity),
  • the name of the television programme, its identification and logo,
  • a completed form on the basic programme requirements which the broadcaster will take into account in the distribution of the programme,
  • the identification of the type of thematic programme, if any,
  • local windows, if any,
  • the possible integration into a programme network and the programme requirements that the broadcaster will take into account in its dissemination, its name, identification and logo,
  • copies of the contracts concluded with the collecting societies for the management of copyright and related rights in the works to be broadcast on its programme.
