Agencija obvešča javnost o uvajanju sistema za obveščanje SI-ALARM

SI-ALARM

The SI-ALARM Public Information and Alarm System is shown in the picture.

The Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia informs the public about the introduction of a modern public information and alarm system on public mobile networks, SI-ALARM, which will complement or upgrade the existing public information systems - alarm sirens, radio and television programmes, web notifications and public address systems. The Public Information and Alarm System, of which SI-ALARM will be a part, is managed by the Slovenian Protection and Rescue Administration (SPRA).

The SI-ALARM system will send a message to mobile phones connected to the mobile network of any operator in the Republic of Slovenia in the event of natural and other disasters, industrial and environmental incidents and other crisis situations, providing users with important information for the protection of people and property in just a few seconds. The Public Information System is already used in most European countries and does not require registration, special applications or a data connection, but simply a connection of the phone to a mobile network. The system works automatically on all mobile phones, including older ones, and is completely free of charge for users, who will receive messages in Slovene and English, and in Italian and Hungarian in areas with ethnic communities.

A public test of the system will take place in autumn this year, and the exact date of the test will be communicated to the public. More detailed information on the public notification and alert system on public mobile networks, as well as information on the content and format of the test message, is available here.
