The Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia publishes a report on the rail services market and the Agency's activities for 2023. The report notes, inter alia, that:

• the volume of rail freight transport (in net tonne-kilometres) on the network of the Republic of Slovenia has fallen by around 5% compared to 2022, and the volume of goods transported has fallen by around the same amount;
• the situation in passenger transport has improved again in 2023;
• SŽ - Tovorni promet still has the largest market share in the freight transport market, 76 %;
• 1.2% more train kilometres in freight and 4% more train kilometres in passenger transport on EU markets in 2022 compared to the previous year.
